Keito Hasumi ー はすみけいと
keito hasumi my beloved failure of a man. i got hooked on him mainly in early 2023, after reading crossroads. crossroads changed my life. as you can imagine considering i have a whole ass seperate page for it, but either way. i think keito is a really interesting character in the way he is build in the rigidity of his beliefs but also his lack of external repentance for what happened in the war. he actively encouraged and helped eichi in his destruction and rebuild of yumenosaki's system, and chose not to 'poison' souma for it, but still doesn't express regret for what happened. i know he regrets it, it's obvious, but he doesn't really talk about it. moving on from the past with him is really nice though; since akatsuki's full formation, keito has become a lot more of a softer, compassionate person despite his strict nature and his general stern behaviour. don't get me wrong, he can still be strict, but he's opened up a lot more to talking about his struggles and genuinely becoming a kinder person.
generally keito is someone i really appreciate as a character too - he's a good balance of a more human person and also someone who's used to being a machine, his overworking tendancies really being a relatable factor to me but also a very real prospect. it's late and a lot of my thoughts on him are less than coherent outside of crossroads but genuinely i love his gap moe i think thats a really big reason i think he's so cute because like oh my god grown ass man and ur looking SO pathetic and for what???
aside from how pathetic he is i think keito is just really cool and really cute, i think i've rlly learnt a lot abt more traditional japanese culture n also some buddhism/shintoism bcz of him especially like the shamisen its so pretty and yeah. shoutout in particular to the crossroads stageplay destruction road whilst im here i think his actor was really pretty and the one part that kills me will forever be the ending shot of act 1 where keitos on his knees crying and begging whilst rei outstretches a single hand then it all goes black. the ! era stuff for him makes me terminally ill. shoutout to uhh keep in character cindarella show as well even though its not my Favourite card of his i liked the story a lot and he looks really pretty in a dress but you didnt hear that from me.
forgot to mention this when i was writing this last night but im in love with his voice so much. like umechan yuichiro umehara i love you so much sir vanity please come back i miss you keitos voice is so good and id literally listen to every single buddhist sutra if he was saying it its so like smooth and almost caramelly imo i think we need to appreciate it more..,,

its a new day since when i wrote unsullied flower of the heart review but my opinion hasnt changed on gap moe keito. this is criminal. 'firm dominant' my ass you look like a devil with a gun in the bloomed and thats it bro and here youre looking at me like THIS. like be fr keito you will never be able to sell the dominant image for yourself even if you tried. he looks similar to kuros tour card with tetora
akatsuki is so pathetic /aff but like oh my god this card is so funny in context to me i cant get over it

so. this card came out just before my birthday iirc like the week before and OH MY GOD. i wasnt too horrendous about it but one of my friends was just constantly left FLABBERGASTED by this card. also the 3*s were really funny to me because at the time i was running a gimmick account on twitter (now dead) and i met some of my friends through it who at the time were running the gimmick accounts for kuro and rei whilst i was running it for keito. insane times. i love the colour composition here im ngl like i know i should be running to thirst over him but the yellow and reds look really nice and i really like the necklace too,, something about the patterns as well i just think work really well. 10/10 card i have it up on my wall in the centre its great

moving onto ! cards. yumebait go crazy here. knowing keito (and happyele) this is probably actually him giving the bouquet to another man but it can be yumebait so its okay..? i dont know where the hell he got GREEN ROSES from but i dont do flower language so i can't tell you what the rest of this means i just think hes really cute i dont even know where this is from. he just gets a shoutout.
sweet red gift ー keito hasumi
short reason why this one is here: the bakkyun. in both the anime + memory of marrionette he does this stupid fucking bakkyun and yes theres a theme between me and him and gap moe but shh .. i just think he's adorable. idt this card is actually from the tanabata festival bakkyun its part of a different story (that i havent read. evidently.) but i still think it deserves a shoutout for how pathetic he is. in general a lot of his ! cards were really pathetic though imo.

i have read comic world and i must say the story is very funny. why the hell is ibara commisioning a comic abt the comings and goings of yumenosaki. However. the way newer enstarries decide that this is canon kills me every time. this isnt actually keito guys please its the character from his fancomic weird thing. hes so ugly it kills me. never change keito never change

this card is so funny to me i dont think he had slept for a day or so in this cg but the offbrand redbull really ties it all together. i can rlly relate to this tbh but im not allowed energy drinks at home so i havent had redbull since like june or something :( but i really like this card i did read the story like last year but i dont remember what happened in it ??? lmao but yeah i just think hes really nice this was my pfp on a few accounts because i was in my #keitoera but also because hes literally me here . but anyways the bloomed for this is CRIMINALLY good like
keito in golden light is my downfall and even though the actual coordination of the outfit is rlly weird its still super pretty to me. one thing i noticed in the difference between ! and !! cards is that the bloomed in ! cards usually isnt shown in the story meaning it can be literally anything whilst the unbloomed takes place in the story, whilst in !! cards both cgs have to take place in the story which i guess limits them to the shuffle outfit/theme outfit but its okay (?) i just thought it was interesting

so. this was also my brand for about 2 months when i was matching with a group of friends but honestly its such a gorgeous card.. never getting over keito in orange/yellow light (as we know. i need to stop saying that but its the truth) but also the colour composition is so nice like seeing keitos green hair on a red/orange bg never feels like budget christmas decor so its so pretty ++ the leaves are such a nice detail.. keitos cards that lean towards the more trad japanese aspect fascinate me more than id like to admit especially this one. i need to eat it.

chinatown's head ー keito hasumi
last card of the batch, my beloved chinatown's head. this has been my brand for months and i think there's still people who relate me to chinatown's head because it was my pfp on main for a good number of months. i love this card with a passion its the lighting again and also the general vibe? i read the story as well but back to the card for a sec it reminds me of like tbhk or tcgf in the orange light and tall buildings he looks really nice. one again red and green without looking christmassy as well which is always a bonus but the way he just Looks has me entranced sometimes.
i have read the story for chinatown's head; super cute im not even joking i read it like twice because it was 8 episodes and i had the time during my biology class one time to reread it. keitos so considerate it makes me so happy and he tries so hard for his kouhais like :((( but in this he ends up making like either xiaolongbao or another type of potsticker (though i think it should be xiaolongbao) for sora and like do you see how cute he is. happyele needs to stop making keito moe cards im not even joking

but either way yeah . i do love this card i think it was what got me really hooked on keito as a person/concept which is really funny but i do think this is one of his best cards.

keito hasumi is a member of akatsuki, under the idol agency rhythm link. he acts as their representative a lot, and handles a large portion of their paperwork frequently. he was played a large part in the 'war', which was a time period where the student council president eichi tenshouin used his influence as the heir to the tenshouin conglomerate to reform yumenosaki's system, as he believed the pure dreams of idols were being muddied by the lax and overall noncommital behaviour of the enrolled students. this war began a year before the ! era, as shown in crossroads and other similar stories. keito does feel regret for the actions he took, unlike eichi, but that was due to the collatoral damage caused by eichi's recklessness. keito himself had his own relationships affected or destroyed, as he was never truly able to view rei the same after crossroads, and he tried to exile souma from akatsuki during meteor impact as not to dirty him with the sins of akatsuki. his and kuro's bond only strengthened due to this though, as kuro became one of the only people keito found easy to turn to and someone much more reliable despite his seemingly ruffian background.
since the ! era, keito has grown to be a lot more of a kind person, despite his strict nature. he opens up to those he's more close with, but there's some sort of underlying regret or even a question of why won't people blame him when it comes to his past actions. he's more than willing to take responsibility on a lot of fronts, which gives his regret depth and a more human nature, but he's very poignant about a lot of things as well. he's very well structured as a person, but he also tends to overwork himself and stay very late in the office. this could be attributed to japanese work culture, sure, but it's not too difficult to notice the times he's worked overtime on somethign as simple as a live proposal or some of the work for the student council back when he was student council vice president.
additionally, he was previously a member of the unit UNDEAD, formerly known as DEADMANZ. the reason i phrase it this way rather than simply being part of DEADMANZ is due to the fact DEADMANZ was never formally disbanded. the name to the unit was changed on the document, but it was originally a unit made for rei's downfall. the name UNDEAD was picked by koga, who believed rei was now immortal, and they could never die. both kuro and keito are no longer part of the former UNDEAD.
