Yusuke Kitagawa ー きたがわゆすけ

okay forgive me for this one. i know i haven't finished the game but like i love yusuke with my whole heart so i can't Not make a shrine page abt him .. :(

i love yusuke so much man im sorry hes so fuckin stupid that he makes me want to cry like especially in the church scene where he gets akira to do that stupid pose

i think my issue w p5 characters is that no matter where you are in the story every character is so well built that you can't hate them even if you try and i think yusuke is a really big example of this cuz sure you can find him annoying ig but like hes genuinely such a good example of someone whos been groomed from a young age into something as significant to him as believing he was constantly indebted to madarame and the way he finds it difficult to interact with those who can't understand him really just says a lot about how little he spoke with people outside of other creatives or art critics, and only once pushed to a true breaking point (discovering what actually happened to his mother) was he able to go against and fight madarame n that just has so much weight to it as a plot point..

like i know a lot of the characters were 'doormats who needed an awakening' to put it simply (and innacurately but whatever) but yusuke is really someone who couldn't imagine his abuser doing anything wrong until he wasn't able to deny it any longer and the way his resolve around his own conviction strengthened really is just so peak to me im sorry

silly blue guy am i right. i love his granblue art most of all
yusuke granblue fantasy art
since like the colours in granblue are sooo pretty but i like his general outfits anyway the blue and the whole vibe of the mask really just is so cool to me and i think we should appreciate yusukes character design more .. also goemon being his story is so interesting because goemon was executed via being boiled alive with his young son, and some tellings talk of him trying to save his son by raising him above his head whilst goemon died, whilst others say he killed his son as quickly as possible for little pain, then used his corpse to like make the surrounding people understand the gravity of what they've done and to force them to regret and i do wonder what this means for yusuke's character in itself.

either way i think hes silly shrug

you see i don't actually know what to put here considering i cant rlly yap about him tooooo much ..

yusuke is an orphan who was taken in by the artist madarame from the age of 3. his mother died as she 'fell down the stairs' when he was young, and his father was never mentioned. yusuke is a perfectionist by artistic nature, and he only shows art he can take pride in. he defended madarame on multiple accounts when he was first accused of fraud, but was soon forced to realise the true consequences of his mentor's actions.
